Background
Photography became a life long passion of mine ever since I got my first camera on my 6th birthday. Having the ability to make time stand still and capture and preserve life’s marked moments and emotions quickly became my passion. Life is a series of celebrations and it has become my calling to capture and record all of what life has to offer in their purest form.
Beginning with a photography elective course in high school, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Photography degree from Point Park College and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1984. We studied the works of Ansel Adams, who pioneered the “Zone System”, Alfred Eisenstaedt, known as “The Father of Photojournalism”, Rembrandt who employed the use of “Chairoscuro” and Da Vinci for his technique of “sfumato.”
Philosophy
Photography is my medium of creativity and capturing memorable images that are everlasting is my passion. Wedding photography is a combination of glamour, sophistication, style, grace, spontaneity, journalism, and emotion often shifting from one frame to the next. When I shoot a wedding I photograph people having fun and being themselves. I use my art to tell a story rather than simply chronicle a wedding. I look for moments that make me feel good inside and these are usually the same moments that make the bride and groom feel good. In addition to seeing it with my eyes, I have to see it with my heart.
“In addition to seeing it with my eyes, I have to see it with my heart.”
